Hello

How can I add a joomla message after a 0 result search has been made and the user has been redirected to main menu page? Something like "No Products Found".

Thank you for your time.

That is a paid feature dude. Donate a few, well deserved, euro for this wonderful software, and you'll be able to do a lot more than just search.

@ Bram

I was thinking more like a system error/warning message. Keep the redirection to main menu page as is( no dreaded 404s, no thanx ) and add a system message to it that no products were found.

Which files are responsible for redirecting to main menu page if there are no search results? Just tell me that and I'll do the rest and share it here.

There was a message (using the joomla message system) in the past. Has been removed, to ugly.

For google the 404 option is the beter, google doesn't like the redirects see the soft-404's information within google webmaster tools

I'm using a plugin that makes the generic joomla system message much prettier. It is now a popup with really nice custom styling.

How can I add this functionality that used to exist? Please?

Keep in mind that I'm not talking about e.g. a brand that used to exist but not any more, which is something that should throw a 404 ( or even better a 410 ) instead of redirecting to main menu.

I'm talking about searching and not getting any results. That's when I'd like to basically redirect the user to the same page that he was when he initiated the search, and then throw the system message that no products were found.
