With V 2.5.1840 i have not this problem.

by default the component uses fopen to fetch files. Often using fopen for fetching remote file is disabled on servers. Then the component switches to CURL.

curl is an extension installed on most php based servers however not always.

are the websites on the same server?

I have switched the option to CURL in the server.
